A few hours after my mom and Michelle left, we had an incredibly busy weekend. We babysat two other kids, which meant we were responsible for four kids under the age of three.
Here's the story . . .
Paige was my roommate at BYU after my mission. She moved to Southern California last year and then her husband left for Afghanistan a few months ago. She got a chance to attend a weekend photography workshop for free so we watched her kids, Gabe (2.5--6 months older than Ellen) and Alta (9 months--3 months older than Rachel). She stayed at our house Friday and Saturday night, so we just had the kids for a few hours Friday evening and then during the day on Saturday and Sunday.
Ellen and Gabe had a great time together and shared toys well, considering the circumstances. Thankfully, it seemed like one of the two younger girls was usually napping, so we mostly only had three kids to entertain. On Saturday, we played outside a lot and went to the park. Jeff's calling keeps him pretty busy on Sunday so our other roommate, Jesse, who lives in LA, came down to help take all the kids to church. (She was a lifesaver!) Overall, we really had a good time!
