Our house came with lovely single paned windows that are not very energy efficient. Our master bedroom was an oven last summer. It is has 5 huge windows that get lots of afternoon sun. We decided to replace them with the really energy efficient double paned windows they make these days.
What a difference!! On hot afternoons, our bedroom is just a few degrees warmer than the rest of the house instead of 10-15 degrees hotter like it was last summer. Hooray!!
