We spent a week at Aspen Grove Family Camp with Jeff's immediate family and had such a fun time! They really know how to help families have a great vacation together. All meals are eaten in a cafeteria, so no cooking or clean up, they take care of your kids for a good portion of each day, and there are lots of fun things to do in a beautiful setting.
There were some animal sculptures around camp that the girls LOVED. They always wanted to be playing on them when we were near by.
It was really fun to spend time with Jeff's siblings as adults, without having our kids around.
Almost everyone else played paintball one morning--we decided this was not an activity conducive to pregnancy so I took pictures.

We had a family talent show and Ellen was excited to perform "Five Little Speckled Frogs" for everyone. (Notice the frogs on her arm). She loves being in the spotlight.
Another fun activity for the adults: Rifle shooting
I was surprised how much I enjoyed this.
We also did archery another day.
They have this little frontier town set up for kids to play in. Fun!
At "Frontier Night" they got to ride a little train.
Even Ellen got to shoot a gun!
Ellen and Rachel really got to know their Brinkerhoff cousins during the week. It was cute to see them all bond. This was walking to dinner one night.
Rachel and Claire are really close in age. They are destined to be the best of friends. :)
There were lots of opportunities for ping pong and tennis tournaments during the week.
At the closing campfire, each age group did their cheer on stage, so Ellen went up with all the three year olds. She was one of the most animated kids on stage. She really loves being in the spotlight!
We took family pictures while we were all together.

We all stayed in a large family cabin together--all 29 of us. It worked out amazingly well. It was a
great set up--each family had a bedroom and then shared a bathroom. It
was nice to be able to hang out together while our kids were napping and
after they went to bed at night. We all decided this is repeat vacation. Everything about the week was awesome. Thanks Mom and Dad Brinkerhoff for making it happen!

What a fun vacation! Is that where we had our freshman ward party when Isaac did his Stick Shifts and Safety Belts dance???
ReplyDeleteThe freshman party was at Timp Lodge--this is just a few miles farther up the canyon, but same general area.
